Dear Pastor, Staff, and Ministry Leaders,
Greetings from the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary & College. God has given us a wonderful and diverse student body committed to taking the good news across Canada and to the difficult places. The challenges are great, but we are confidently training leaders to plant 1000 churches across Canada by 2020.
We are writing this letter on behalf of our students to ask your church to participate in a project. We have wonderful families at our Seminary and would like to improve our playground facilities. There are over seventy-five children in our seminary faculty, staff, and student families and an indoor space for children to play is desperately needed.
There are two projects we would like to implement. First, we have asked our Churches in Canada to commit their VBS offerings in 2009 to purchase and install new playground equipment that is age appropriate, safe, and useable. We already have a great new playground location and would like to purchase and install the new playground equipment.
The second project is to build a kid-friendly indoor facility. Because of the long winters, we need a simple structure that is lit, heated, and a play area for kids. Recently, we had six weeks of below freezing temperatures. The moms with little kids had no indoor space to take their kids to play and it is quite a challenge for Seminary families as winters often last until well into May.
Project Proposal: We would like to ask your church to give their 2009 VBS/Kids Club Offering to help build an indoor space. The idea is “kids helping kids.” Many of the families at our Seminary will be planting churches and sharing the gospel in tough places and our desire is to make their seminary experience the best we can for the whole family.
We would prefer to do this project without asking churches to put this in their budget. We believe that this is something kids can do! Would your church take part in this project in 2009? Our goal is to accomplish the first project through the support of Canadian churches. The second project will be supported by our partner churches in the United States.
To participate, please download the filable PDF form and send it by email to partnership@csbs.ca. We will send you posters, pictures, information about the kids at our Seminary, and a prayer guide that will help you promote this project.
Thank you so much for your partnership in ministry!
