Spiritual Formation (2 credits)

This course is designed to assist persons in their spiritual and character development, with a view to becoming more strongly prepared on a personal level for Christian living and ministry. Important elements of ministry will be studied, including typical ministry hazards and types of personal failures. Investing in personal formation is a key component of this course.

Pastoral Ministry (2 credits)

The concept of ministry will be examined from the biblical perspective. The primary focus will be the pastor’s role exercised in and through the local church. Attention will be given to issues related to: call, character, competence, and context. Students are required to have a shepherd’s role with a group of people (no less than five) in their local church. Possible shepherd roles include: pastor, Sunday School teacher, cell group leader, etc. Shepherd roles must be secured prior to the beginning of the course.
