Master of Arts in Christian Ministry

This degree program is designed to prepare graduates for competent Christian leadership in a wide variety of ministry callings. Foundational studies include Bible, theology, ministry skills and praxis. Tracks within this degree program include:

  • Applied Ministry
  • Pastoral Leadership
  • Missions & Church Planting

Requirements

  1. The prerequisite for this degree is a B.A. degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university.
  2. A total of 92 credit hours are required for the completion of the degree.

Master of Arts in Christian Ministry: Applied Ministry Track

The Applied Ministry Track allows for the greatest degree of flexibility with one-forth of credit hours designated as free electives, including the option of field based internships.

Master of Arts in Christian Ministry: Pastoral Leadership Track

The Pastoral Leadership Track is designed to give graduates a basic foundation for various roles in pastoral ministries. It is not the equivalent of the standard professional ministry degree but includes many of the same degree outcomes. It is well suited for those looking for basic pastoral training in a wide variety of settings but attainable in a shorter amount of time.

  2. Graduates will demonstrate a general understanding of Christian theology and ethics.
  3. Graduates will have gained skills in teaching and evangelism.
  4. Graduates will have gained understanding in spiritual growth and leadership.
  5. Graduates will have the ability to perform the basic functions of a pastor including proclamation and pastoral guidance.

Master of Arts in Christian Ministry: Missions & Church Planting Track

The Missions and Church Planting Track is designed to equip leaders for missional ministry in hard places. It is well suited for those who are preparing to serve as church planters of missionaries, especially buy not exclusively in urban centers. This track allows for the option of a field-based internship.
